What is the class all about?
Superhero Training for Boys is meant to help
pre-teen and teen boys improve their personal
and academic achievements, develop a
stronger self-image, and foster self-confidence.
The class allows boys to connect one-on-one
with a male mentor and make honest
explorations about their strengths and
weaknesses in a judgment-free environment.
"I recommend everyone bring this program
to their school."
- J. Howard, Huguenot High School
“Slash’s ability to reach a wide range of
students in a meaningful way and to provide
each one with the tools and confidence to
express themselves creatively is the
foundation of his success. “
- Rob Mc Adams, Young Audiences of Virginia
How will it help?
Based on SOL objectives, this workshop
uses storytelling exercises, theater games
and creative writing activities to get students
to utilize their unique creative talents to foster
a strong self-image with pride in their skills.
Ultimately, this helps students counter some
of the biggest challenges facing pre-teens
and teens today including: bullying, anger,
eating disorders, violence, substance abuse,
anger, delinquency, and suicide.
